http://www.switched.com/2011/01/17/steven-paul-archer-tunnels-gamestop-arrested/ Most video game addicts would do just about anything to get their hands on a free copy of their favorite game. But few would go as far as to pull off a bank robbery-style heist of their local retailer. Why? Because it's illegal, it's stupid, and, in the age of rampant online piracy, it's not even slightly necessary. Steven Archer, however, apparently thought it was worth a shot. The 33-year-old Archer was arrested last week for digging a tunnel into his local GameStop, and walking away with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. Police say the man started digging on January 4, after breaking into a vacant building next to the game store. When all was said and done, Archer allegedly made off with nearly $300 in cash, and more than $5,300 in games and electronics. Now, he faces charges of felony burglary, and a lifetime of asking himself why he didn't just rip pirated games off the Internet, like the rest of the world.
When I heard that story the commentator made the reference that it was something you'd hear/see in a bad 1900's crime story.
Yeah digging a tunnel into a store to rob it a pretty epic undertaking, if it would have worked but he was caught, so it was epic fail. He should have just pirated the games
The Walmart next door actually got him busted, because he was parking his purple truck there while digging his tunnel. http://www.tentonhammer.com/podcasts/live/32 The burglary is the first thing they talk about so you don't have to listen to all the Rift info if you don't want to.
Someone had to rat him out. Or something how did he get caught? If your smart enough to dig a tunnel you should be smart enough to get away.
only if he took a little each day, it would have took them awhile to figure out why inventory was slowly dropping they would have blamed the employees lol
