John Smedley has just updated his blog with some new PlanetSide details:

I'd be interested in trying it out as well. I won't be re-subbing to try to get into any beta however.

 

The issue with giving the beta to current Planetside subscribers, is they are current Planetside subscribers. I loved the game back in the day, but I don't think I want people who pay to play it now giving the thumbs up or thumbs down on a game. They are not the same market as I am

 

All I know is do not ... DO NOT ..

1. Take a ride on a Galaxy piloted by PhoenixDog

2. Definately do not comment on the suckiness of the Buffalo Sabres when P-dog is pilot a galaxy

eitherway you are most likely taking a quick ride in the the proverbial "drink"

I am stoked about this new Planetside. I cannot wait to be playing a real, good MMO again with a great emphasis on teamwork, where you don't have to kill crabs and slime to level up. Here's hoping the best from the past come back to roll with Xen.

 

Hot Drop anyone ?

 

I remember my group started dropping from liberty(?) bombers.

 

Flying in with a black ops team in that stealth aircraft to sabotage bases was awesome.

 

I think we all remember who the best gal pilot was... cough cough... just saying, I dodged countless orbital strikes whilest preparing to cap the next base.

Actually, gruune, if I remember correctly you were in a max suit in my gal on a regular basis. And then that whole hateful "galaxy of death" post popped up on xenforcers, and I was barred from ever flying a gal in a xoo continent raid night again. Some people just can't handle not being the best lol

 

I am pretty excited about this, Planetside offered a game in terms of combat and sheer awesomeness that no other game has touched. Thought I am unsure about how much I trust SOE to develop a game that doesn't suck now after all the terrible gamebreaking changes to the original.

VS4Life.

 

SOE is bad mmkay.

 

Anyone is better than flying with phoenix dog

Anyone got an orbital strike?

 

The Vanu tank was kinda weak compared to the main gun on the NC tank ... but then again Mag mowing was unstoppable lol

 

Yay! Entry from the FAQ being put together for PS:N over at PS:U. Funny how little info exists on this game, there are 6 points on the FAQ. lol

Alright as long as they bring back the Bang-bus I think I'll be good to go.
