So now that we're close to the end of 2010, what are some of your favorite games from the past year? The games don't necessarily have to have been released in 2010, but what you've been playing throughout the year. For me, my favorites are: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories - Been a long-time Silent Hill fan. Had low expectations for this one, but it turned out really good. I even made a walkthrough for it because I ended up playing it so much Amnesia: The Dark Descent - Awesome survival horror. Made good use of first-person view for a horror setting, which I really liked. Red Dead Redemption - Probably on everyone's list. Just plain awesome. Except the ending, becuase Jack is lame. Dragon Age: Origins - Came out in 2009, but I didn't end up playing until 2010 and it rocked. Had a well-rounded story and the best depth-of-character I've seen in a while. I especially liked how the camps worked. I would always end my playtime at camp after chatting with Morrigan and Leliana and they always had something interesting to talk about. It ended the night with a nice serene feel. Call of Duty: Black Ops - Good times with some friends shooting people and making penicorn emblems Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Epitome of an awesome platformer. Had a nice challenge to it as well, unlike a lot of other games. Super Meat Boy - Same as Mario Galaxy, but with a cool indie feel. Really good music too. Minecraft - No description required.
Dragon Age: Origins Madden '11 Aion - more for the folks I played with than the game itself tho. Red Dead Redemption - loved the shit outta that one - even bought the Zombie xpac right before Halloween - serious win.
I feel like Mass Effect 2 shouldn't count just because it felt like it was SO long ago, which.. I mean for this year - it was! I'm going to play through it again soon actually.. hmpf.
I picked up the King's Bounty series from Steam last month, and of course they knocked $10.00 off the price tag yesterday. But, if you're a fan of HoMM series you will love this game, I've sunk alot of hotel hours into this and am thoroughly enjoying it.
