I hate 3D movies and there's no fucking way I'd ever sit through I, II, and III again just to scratch my eyes along with wanting to blow my brains out.

This 3D trend is getting on my nerves.

I hate 3D. I have not seen one movie it has made better. The glasses they give you at the theatre are horribly uncomfortable. When star wars is out on blu ray next year I'll likely get that but not a chance in 3D.

The original SW movies were great as they were, moving them to 3D while still having all those special effects being so old and the writing and acting not being up to todays standards will just show even more how old and out dated the movies are. The bluray versions looks great because it provides a lot more detail that is lost on a small resolution, but thats as far as things should go.

I like 3D but only for animated movies like Avatar - it worked really well. For real-life films it feels like they kinda force the 3D aspect and it just looks bad.

Sadly the latter may be the case for Star Wars. It isn't animated, and the 3D isn't being created from the ground up. They're merely converting a 2D film into 3D (correct me if I'm wrong).

Although I'll go see em anyways because I love Star Wars, even the first three.

    I prefer this one:

I agree, 3D gets a bad rep, but it's really quite amazing when done right.

I was actually a big proponent of 3D until I saw SAW in 3D... then I was like okay, maybe it doesn't work all the time.

I actually experimented in 3D long before this 3D stuff took off.

I find it that most 3D movies unless originally made for the technology is just stupid. Re mastering a movie in 3D does absolutely nothing and makes it just a money deal. It was like Saw in 3D it was just stupid to label it in 3D most of the movie wasn't done for the feel.

Exactly. The only movies I will go see in 3D are ones filmed in 3D. And even then I sometimes just dont want to pay $16.50 for a movie ticket so I go see it in normal 2D.

I am going to see Tron in 3D :)

I'm not really sure what the point of 3D is supposed to be...it doesn't really accomplish anything other than giving a little bit of depth perception. I also have to admit I'm one of those people that gets a headache from the glasses, though.

On the other hand, I don't really get the point of star wars either...the acting is bad and the writing is worse...so I guess it's kind of a moot point anyway. :p

Milking money out of the Star Wars franchise is basically all what Lucas has been doing for about 20 years.

VHS box ... Special edition box ... THX certified LD box... DVD box ... special edition DVD box ... THX certified special DVD box ... etc ...

Oh wait, he also raped Indiana Jones.

When color first became common in theaters..people complained...eyes hurt and got headaches...

when moving pictures started it was called a fad and vaudeville would win out.

    Video killed the radio star

Quoted for fuckin truth man. I seriously thought it was going to be a temporary fad for the kids movies and now it's looking like it's going to be what everyone eventually has in their home. I just don't get it, its not that cool, too many people are buying into it thinking its much better when a lot of times it can take away from the experience.
