Hey wondering if anyone has a solution to the website not loading properly. It always stops at 9 items remaining using the latest version of IE. This doesn't happen on any of the other sites I commonly view. After talking to a friend it sounds like the search function among other options are failing to load properly it just hangs up.

internet explorer has problems with flash. Try using the version without flash.

I'm not realy sure how to do that, only thing I found with my google-fu was changing some stuff in the registry which I'd rather not delve into.. Just curious why flash has an issue here and not other sites that also use v bulletin. One site I use Fohguild.org uses vb3.8.0 I noticed here its vb3.8.4 could it be something in the latest version? of VB.

By different version, he means going to the very bottom of the forums, and choosing the non flash version of the forums

I posted this up in the admin area even before we created the flash version. This is why I added a non-flash variant which can be found on the main index page.

    IE9 Is a fantastic browser.

It doesn't seem to be just flash that is the problem. I can see that the "level up" bars below our forum names are broken as well.

It is also standards noncompliant meaning it ruins the interwebz. When IE shows you a webpage. It will take horribly broken code and display it as if things were fine. It likes to take the code and show you what it thinks was the intended output. Thus people will make a webpage load up IE and when all looks well they think they've done a good job. This also causes problems for other browsers that actually do follow standards. Since people trying to trick IE into displaying things the way they should be shown sometimes causes problems with other browsers.

Kinda like this site then with ther most standards compliant browser of them all?

hahahahaha. Im sorry. I just couldnt resist. XoO HQ is still a great site and is easily managable ;) I think problems with Opera and this site are more from Adobe Flash anyway.
