    Game of the Month

Xen of Onslaught has always encouraged members from different divisions to group together and try out new games. We have decided to start a ‘game of the month’, which will either be a free to play game, a beta game or a game which is readily available for a low price. We will have a post in the member forums which will list the current game, as well as ask for recommendations from the members for the next month’s game.

We are starting the game of the month midway through, as today is the start of beta for Vindictus. See the other news post for more details on that here.

    Code of Conduct modification

We have modified the Code of Conduct under communications. It was already fairly evident, however we cleared up something which could be uncertain. Simply put, if you are in game, teamspeak is mandatory (although you may be in a game specific silent channel, and willing to respond to requests from leadership. See the Code of Conduct for more details.

Its about time. I hate people who moan and complain about requirements that are global for all games.

Thanks you guys for clarifying everything.

I'm guessing this relates to supported games only. Right?

Interesting. So you expect people to get on ts WHICH CONSTANTLY CRASHES MY ENTIRE COMPUTER CAUSING A REBOOT? I asked for the version to try and troubleshoot and nobody responded yet(In a thread dedicated to it). I am not the only one affected by this.

I guess the problem solves itself since getting on ts means you can't game anymore therefore you don't need to be on ts.

Also, Q could help as well.

Thanks for this post. Paying for Teamspeak, might as well use it. Good way to judge activity too.

Curious as to how this is being enforced.

you don't hear about the others because they can't get on ts and thus can't talk about it much. not everyone visits the forums either.

but thanks for clarifying the rule.

To be honest, I think its stupid that TS be mandatory when you are in a supported game. Sometimes I'm just listening to music and soloing, other times I come home drunk and shouldnt really be on TS anyway, other times I'm too hungover to bother to talk to people. There are a lot of reasons I can state why I don't feel like being on TS.

We'll have a response for you by this time tomorrow, we didn't think about that one. Until we come up with a concrete decision, I'd say you don't have to.

You can get on TS in a quiet channel.
If you have a problem with the rules, this is the wrong place for you buddy.

That's why we have silent channels. If you're in a silent channel, you only have to leave the channel if an officer/game leader needs to talk to you.

If people aren't visiting the forums then its their fail. Why are they even playing with us?

If you don't want to take the time to look for help on our forums, though we should've fixed it a long time ago, then you shouldn't even be in XoO let alone trying to get on our TS.

As for being too drunk to be in TS. Too bad. If you are drunk enough to type in your password to your game then you aren't drunk enough to not click two buttons.

As brown said we are talking about this but it will more than likely be only supported divisions since unsupported have no way to police them(CO's etc) and at most times aren't going to have enough people in TS to talk to anyway.

You beat me to it and I might add...although TS may be a problem for certain systems, I thought forum participation was mandatory?

ok let me rephrase: not everyone visits the forums on a daily basis. not everyone goes to the forums for help. some people try to solve it on their own. some people talk to other people for help instead of posting about it. there are trillions of reasons why. not every game requires constant posting on the forum. not everyone is in a supported/unofficial game at the time so there is nothing to post about.

also, I did make a post asking for help over two weeks ago. no responses yet. if people can't even bother to take two seconds to offer help with something that they CAN help with then they shouldn't complain about people not looking for help.

Oh boy...I thought this was almost isolated to the War division where we have members leave cause they need to be in TS...

And again, even though this is probably not related to it, we only have Vent for our Alliance, stop yelling at us for using it...we can be anywhere from 10 to 40 people on at one time from an alliance; or just friendly guild we play with needing a coms..

And not so much that, but the pug guilds we run with don't use TS and we're not going to wait for them to DL it...it's also just not happening..

And yes, we do make it a point to keep our people on TS in the silent channel during gameplay.

Overall, I think it's a good amendment...personally I just leave the sucker on all the time..it doesn't take up THAT many resources..

in case i missed it in this thread and i cant seem to find the TS thread we have found out that there is a issue with older sound blaster cards with TS anything that is 3 to 4 years old will crash TS and throw your comp into reboot. There was one guy in war that never was able to get in TS and there was other in warhammer that had the same problem. Hope this helps
