So out of the 20 people who signed up to go we managed to get 14 of us down there. The other six either didn't have enough money, couldn't get off work, or had their identities stolen. XoO first met up at the airport and me and decoyninja were the first to arrive then followed by Ronin who would not respond to his real name. We called out twice and nothing. It was only until we yelled "Ronin!" did he turn around and say "hey, what's up guys". After TheCommunist and co. joined us we had about 8 of us waiting for asgaga to show. Once he finally showed we took off for the hotel. On the way there we were traveling up an escalator to the tram only to have a little kid stick his tongue out and start saying gibberish to Ronin. Once we arrived at the hotel we decided to head down to the port where Ronin was hit on by a gay and homeless guy. On the day of PAX we all went in together, grabbed our swag and stood in line for about 2+ hours. We managed to see a really fat guy dressed up as Grogus, a League of Legends character which was amusing and the line to enter was ridiculous. Once inside we made a be-line to the GW2 booth anticipating it to be a long wait. It was. there was already a line formed going around the booth. We all hoped in and waited while a few others went to play Marvel vs Capcom. (From left to right: Jasmus, TheCommunist, Ronin, Asgaga, Slares, and some random ass guy) After we got through the line a few of us managed to play and watch others play as well as listen to the developer rant about the game on his little podium. The booth was very neat and the anticipation was high. My review of GW2 can be found here. Once we got done picking up our GW2 shirts we split and half of us went to TERA while the other half went to the RAGE booth. At the TERA booth we met up with BortherMagneto and some of the developers as well as Brian Knox, the producer for TERA. After watching someone gameplay and getting to play ourselves BortherMagneto went out of his way to grab us some swag after he initially ran out (thanks Bromags)! (From left to right: ViciousDS and Dave) After that we had the opportunity to harass Brian Knox and ask him questions about TERA on behalf of XoO. We asked 12 questions total taken from our question pool that members posted before we left. Brian was more than willing to answer. Answers to the TERA questions and review of TERA can be found here. (From left to right: Dave, decoyninja, Kyoji, Slares, ViciousDS, Asgaga) After that we headed straight to the Star Wars:TOR booth to check out some gameplay. We managed to play several classes including the Smuggler, Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter, and the Imperial Agent. Several of us had a chance to play until we were told to stop taking pictures and stop recording the gameplay. _@: My review of SW:TOR can be found here. On Saturday Ronin and a few others got into a League of Legends tourney and were in the sweet 16, only beat by the team that went on to be #1. I think it was out of 64. Also, later that night we went to the TERA Community Event. There were 44 spots for the event and the developers and community managers were nice enough to let all 14 of us in. Once inside we had great talks with the developers about the game and got to watch a very amusing presentation. Needless to say the developers were very down to earth and very cool about it all and combine that with free drinks and food - yeah, we had a good time! All in all we had a great time, had a LOT to drink and a lot of fun. We were the largest organized group there (at least with t-shirts, aside from developers). Take note, that the image below is on the first day of drinks. The cleaning lady kept taking our beer trophies away! =( (From left to right: Beer, Beer, Beer...Ronin) Perhaps once again we shall send another XoO group down to PAX, Blizzcon, or some other convention so save your pennies and join us as we raid, yet another, convention! ------------------------------------------- Here are some other random pictures (From left to right: some chic and a hot Kyoji) ----------------------------------------------- Images from the special 35 TERA dungeon
if your looking for a ton of TOR pics.............good luck, they barely allowed a damn camera near the fricken booth without a press pass, maybe kyoji will post the vid of the game when the devs go..........."no recording" which sadly is the only other phrase I heard from them besides "your time is up". They did no interaction with their damn fans at the booth which is utterly sad.
I didn't say anything about TOR just pics in general. We saw these on twitter when they were posted day 1 of PAX.
folks were asking for a bunch though in a consolidated thread since some folks were having problems with twitpic and tinypic.
we took the time to interview Brian Knox and other devs. Let them register and join the win if they want to read it so bad.
Awesome pictures, nice beer trophy shot! And I love the TERA group shot, dude on the left's pose is great ; ) Thanks Keej. Edit: Def. hanging out with you next year!
