I haven't even played EVE, but found this and it's hilarious.

Long story short: you can buy (with RL money) an item in-game that gives you game time. These items can then be traded/sold in-game. The other applicable mechanic is that when you get killed while transporting cargo, the killer can loot whatever was in that cargo, including these game-time items.

Someone bought 74 of these items - worth around $1200 - and was transporting it when two players killed him and proceeded to destroy all of the loot left behind. They didn't even take it for themselves, they just blew up everything.

I can't even imagine how enraged the victim must have been. I wouldn't be surprised to hear about the two attackers getting murdered or something.

apparently the roll the computer does hit the entire stack of plex cards as I am assuming it is a 1 stack item thing. Which in theory sucks, but yeah lol...

The person who lost the PLEX was in you alliance? Apparently all of that game time lost was for the entire clan. Looks like you lost part of your alliance.

Well I have never been killed in EVE guess im just that good....

lets not take into account that I have never owned or played the game but still I have never died in it either!

but yea that sucks, then again I dont think I would transport 1200 dollars worth of game stuff in one shipment. I would have to say i would make 5 or 6 trips so if i lost them it wouldn't be so bad.

You are more of a gambler than I. Thats $200+ a trip! I would probably make 72 trips one for each PLEX.

Well I am thinking if you can afford to spend $1200 on a game then you can afford that risk, but if I was in my situation now I'm with you 72 trips. Or better yet set them up and when someone wants it they can come to me and get it lol.

P.S. caps and all that stuff is hard.....

If there was any way to help it, I wouldn't even transport it outside of any safe areas. I don't really know the game to tell where would be safe to hold it, but trying to ship it through an area open to attack is a bad idea regardless of how much PLEX he was carrying.
