Like the title says im looking to buy a new video card since my last one just didnt want to work with windows anymore could have been broken also i gess. Anyways i was thinking of this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814134110&cm_re=GeForce_GTX_470-_-14-134-110-_-Product or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162052&cm_re=GeForce_GTX_465-_-14-162-052-_-Product Now im not very computer savvy so im not sure what will work for me dont laugh at my specs but here they are. intel core 2 quad cpu 2.40ghz 4gb ram 750 max powersupply windows 7 32bit im pretty sure i have pci express but i dont know if pci express 2.0 is the same. So i was wondering if any of these will work for my setup. any tips/help would be awesome. thanks
express 2.0 is backwards compatible with 1.0/.1 you just wont get the full benefit of the card ... these are both great cards and I am a big fan of Nvidia myself your bottleneck will now be your cpu and why did u get 32 bit?
It came with the 64bit disk also. but i had vista 32 and i wasnt sure if 64 would work. im not very good with comps so i didnt wana try it and mess things up lol. thats cools CPUS arnt alot they seem to go on sell alot. thanks for the tips
Well i ended up getting the GeForce GTX 465. even tho my quad 2.40 is 'slow' im good with it for now when i get some extra cash i might think about upgrading it. i might wana do ram next maybe 1 good stick not sure.
What size monitor are you using? Unless it's a 28" monitor you really shouldn't need to spend that much on a video card. As always I reference Tom's Hardware when trying to determine an upgrade path for my video card: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/graphics-card-geforce-radeon,2646.html
