What do you want to spend? Wired, IR or RF? What do you need the solution to do? Are you a smoker or do you eat at your desk?
I do sometimes eat at my desk, and peanut skins have ruined a keyboard before. I'm looking for a gaming keyboard. Wireless is cool, wired is as well, I don't give a shit as long as it is responsive. I need something that is fast and easy to press.
I've owned a bunch of gaming keyboards and of them the Logitech G11 (they've re-named it to the G110 I think) has been a great deal. It has withstood my son's constant use for over 3 years and still works like a champ. The upgrade to this is the G15/19 which is essentially the same keyboard with the LED screens added. Personally, I use the ugliest keyboard around, the Saitek Cyborg. I like the way it functions, the programmable keys are like 'wings' on the sides of the keyboard and are hella easy to get to. THe software isn't quite as robust as Logitech, but works nonetheless. I tried the Razer keyboard (Lycosa I think the name??) and returned it for the Saitek. The Razer was well made, but is so low profile it actually gave me cramps when playing, not to mention there were zero programmable keys. I am a bit of a fan for Razer, so I was very disappointed in the keyboard, but from what I gather, other people really like it alot. I guess what you might want to do is figure out what features you need, then shoot for a model from there. Programmable keys, software, even LED screens, there are a bunch of options out there.
That's what... she ... said? I've owned the same Dell keyboard since I was 16 and it hasn't failed me - although that doesn't help you at all in your situation. I'd like to get a new one too, just to have a new improved keyboard ;]
If I didn't have a MS Natural keyboard, I'd get a Saitek backlit Eclipse. Can someone please release a backlit ergonomic keyboard that isn't this one??

Either of the Logitech's, G11 or G15, are fantastic. I liked mine so much I even ordered one for work and use there too. Programmable keys ftw!
I was looking at the g15, the stupid LCD screens would probably get some use. The only issue I have is, while the g keys are nice, they are out of the way of normal gaming activity. As all things, I'll get used to it.
I really like the feel of the G15 over the Razer, but it is a personal preference, not a technical one. The G15 (and the Saitek Cyborg for that matter) have a bit 'heavier' feel in the keys with a very positive click. THe Razer is very smooth and can even feel a bit effortless. Since I am from a generation that learned to type on a real typewriter (yeah, don't laugh) I think that's why I like the 'heavier' feel of the G15. I think it is important to get your hands on a keyboard and feel it for yourself. Maybe go to a Best Buy or Fry's and use them for yourself for a minute or 2. The Razer also has a completely different texture on the keys vs the G15. Also, the Razer has no programmable 'G' keys, but the software is very robust and you can program virtually any function to any key on the KB. Again, I am a fan of the Logitech, but only because of the feel of the board itself, aside form the LED screen the boards can do virtually the same thing.
I have a G15 for gaming. The LCD screen has some nice little displays for most new games that come out. Also vent/TS plugins so you can see who is talking etc. I dont take full advantage of the "G" keys like I should be. But they are nice addition. I was looking into getting a new keyboard since my g15 space bar has all but died. So im looking at the razer laycos mirror keyboard. I have read many rave reviews about it. But its all personal preferance. Razer is known for gaming performace products. Which I also own and have owned multiple of there gaming mice.
Yea any G15 owner will probably agree that the ventrilo plugin was quite nice whereas the TS one is a big turd. I have been using my G15 for about 2+ years now and still love it, I would definitely recommend it to anyone, but like others have said, Razer does make some badass gaming products so go to the store and see if you can get a feel for either one.
