whether your hate it or love it, at last its here: http://www.mmorpg.com/showFeature.c...Newsletter/utm_source/MMORPG/utm_medium/email OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAH!
I didn't read the whole article, but... I could see a harry potter MMO being good. The plot of the books could work quite well with it. I wouldn't play it personally, but I can see the appeal.
considering its wide spread appeal..the amount of money the books took in..the movies brought in...an MMO had to be in the works. Again, considering the money this could bring in, this might be very well done. It would be a shame to waste such a prime title.
I have a feeling this one will be full of noobs and kiddies. Nobody would get past the 18+ age requirements for guilds.
I wonder how you will be able to play this game, story wise. Is there even a story? Besides assisting Harry. I mean, he will always be the best because storywise, he *is* the chosen one. You're just there pretending to be needed by him, but in reality he's just feeling lazy and wants to take it easy so he drums up some lackeys! This comment nails it for me Why would you, after working a full day (or coming home from school) play a MMO that basically forces you to attend classes and... talk to each other? Not during class ofcourse!
Honestly sounds interesting, I would have to be honest and say that I'd try a free trial, but NEVER pay for it. As for the no one would get into a +18 age requirement guild comment, c'mon you don't really think there will people playing this because it's Harry Potter? You don't think there are any fan girls willing be be submersed into a HP MMO(Hell I know a couple people already said they'd buy the game and they're mature haha)? Going to classes does sound......._______. Go ahead fill in the blank lol
There is where I lose credability, and confess that I read the Harry Potter books. I do admit, I did find them entertaining and addictive, and it would perk my interest as a MMO, but I wouldnt consider it seriously. IMO, this game would work best as a cash shop game, and target a casual audience, and I think you could easily get 250-500k players.
I've read the books and seen the movies and enjoyed both formats. My enjoyment of the series stops there though. I don't see how and MMO could even work. But, that is why science is my thing and I don't create video games.
