Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, the leader of American and NATO forces in Afghanistan, was shown a PowerPoint slide in Kabul last summer that was meant to portray the complexity of American military strategy, but looked more like a bowl of spaghetti.
Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, center, in Kabul in March. He gets PowerPoint printouts the night before staff meetings.

“When we understand that slide, we’ll have won the war,†General McChrystal dryly remarked, one of his advisers recalled, as the room erupted in laughter. msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/MSNBC/Components/Photo/2009/December/091202/091203-engel-big-9a.jpg

I guarantee you the guy that made it is a LtCol or Major that is about a year away from his primary promotion board and is doing everything he can to 'impress' the higher ups. He probably also had his name prominently displayed at the beginning and end of the presentation. I hated douchebags that made crap like that, I was always a little more to the point, of course, I wasn't promoted to Colonel either...coincidence???

I have been privy to far too many military power points. This does not surprise me. A common phrase is "Death by power point". I think this illustrates this nicely.

That tends to happen when you put anything in front of the word Intelligence.
