after 27 1/2 hours of flying time and sitting around airport a 9000 mile trip. Ive made it too my gf house in wellington. I did alot of sleeping when i first arrived. But I am in sync with the time zone now..I think. The weather here is turning cooler..so im going from the end of one winter to the start of another.

Beautiful country....and everything is so clean.
Ive taken a few pics already but still need to get them on flickr,Ill post some soon.
Walked around wellingtons buisness district yesterday..did some shopping for some merrino wool clothes. Lots cheaper here.

Going to take in some museums today and a bird sanctuary.....stop off for a haircut. hit a pub or two for some beer and billiards.

tomorrow we leave for a 3 week car trip around NZ south island..lots to see and do..
I get to meet some more of my second life friends while on the south islands.
    Looking forward to that too.

It doesnt seem like another country hardly..cept for the driving on otherside of the road and the accents. OH..and they dont have root beer....or grits...guess Ill have to adjust :)

Ive had no trouble at all understanding the accents....very friendly people....lots of smiles. I think Im going to love living here.

Re: root beer - it's there I think, but a little uncommon. Might be most often sold as "sarsparilla", as I think that's what the Australians call it.

I really lucked out on the 12 hour flight from LA to auckland.
I had all 3 seats in my row to myself...flipped up all the armrests..piled up 3 pillows and stretched out the whole trip...decent meals..good coffee...some good movies...watch some tv.....dozed most of the way...it was dark most of the trip. forget what type of plane it was..the HUGE one...very smooth flight...quiet.

As compared to the trip from Jax to ft worth...two 6 yo kids in front of me bouncing off the walls and seats...a 12 month old baby behind me...either laughing or crying the whole way..not sure which was worse...the crying or maniacle laughing. An old lady next to me smelling like old lady and making old lady noises the whole way. Dreadfull flight.

Ive been able to track down a couple of places for Root Beer..but it gets bought out soon after its stocked. Sars they call one brand...for sasparilla. they do import A&W rootbeer..but from asia..and its not as strong flavor as an american import...Seems A&W is based in Malaysia now.

Another thing Ill be missing..no grape jelly...They have any kind of jelly you might want here...but no grape jelly. Grape jelly is not that unusual is it? Lots of wine here...guess they use all the grapes for wine.:D

Been trying out the beers here..some tasty brewski's...Ill have to keep a record of them....anyone have one they recommend I try?

Just make sure the photos you post are large, and not the shitty little ones flickr hosts. :)

Other than that, glad to hear everything is going well. Oh, and it's spelled "to". Lol

Maybe. :) I wouldn't think it'd be too uncommon no - but I don't remember seeing it either. It is pretty good stuff.
