1. Character Info: Name, Class, Main Spec (Link armory): Ttayw, Warrior, Prot spec Main http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Sargeras&cn=Ttayw 2. Explaine your talent selection (theorycrafting source, specialization choices etc): Changes have been few on my tank spec. lots of research, tankspot is my friend. not afraid to ask questions either, or take constructive criticism. 3. Your Age: 29 4. Current professions and their raid benefit: Herb/ Alch elixir master. also fishing and cooking maxed, i can bring flasks and food 5. How long you've been playing WoW and what PvE progression you've accomplished: ive been playing wow for /play 111 days, my last guild, exile, went 8/12 in ICC 25, and ive done some icc 10 heroics. 6. Describe how you theorycraft your class (websites, spreadsheets, etc): i research my class on elitest jerks and tankspot. 7. Occupation and living arrangements that impact raiding (family, schedule, etc): I have a wife and a son, they understand my raiding schedule as long as i dont raid 4 /5 days a week lol. weekends are tough but week days are fine, after 6 server. 8. Guild History - where are you leaving and why: Exile, my last guild, split up on good terms. people wanted to raid harder, while others insisted on lackadaisical attitude toward it. couldnt progress missing half the raid nights because one or more people didnt want to show up. 9. How did you hear about us? List any friends/references within the guild: Xen got some of the best raiders of exile, gahk, paladimius, kie, etc. 10. List your raid consumables and your method for maximizing them: i use flasks of stoneblood and rhinolicious wormsteak, but can drop fish feasts for the run. I maximize them by not dieing lol. 11. List scheduling conflicts (include times for possible weekend 10mans): enjoy raiding 2 days a week at the moment during weekdays after 6 server. the occasional weekend is not entirely out but has to be after 7 or 8 server. 12. Provide your raid damage/healing performance. Examples are Recount Screenshot with personal breakdown of attacks, WoW Web Stats (WWS), or World of Logs: I take damage 13. Provide a screenshot of your UI: http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy112/gobucks1111/Ttaywui.jpg 14. Can you take constructive criticism and being call out on mistakes (both in and out of raid)? Absolutely. i pride myself on being able to take constructive criticism and actually prefer to hear opinions, all for the sake of making me better at my job and part of the group. 15. Final comments you feel could help your application: I was with exile for around two years. In all that time i was a steady raider, almost every week we were raiding. I missed maybe 2 raids i had signed up for, both times for family emergencies. If i sign up, I am there, im there on time, and until the raid leader calls it. Progression is what excites me, not gear or easy content, and i am constantly trying to improve. I am looking for a guild that will make that possible. If i missed anything or you need anything else let me know.I hope to hear from you soon. TT
hit and expertise gem placement is odd and shows a lack of general "rule following" for how to socket bonus match according to most tanking spreadsheets or calculators. how do you determine which bonuses to meet? can you expand on the changes to your prot spec and why you deviated from the "norm" 15/3/53?
understandable, and that explains alot now. i am currently running the "max survivability" spec from back when i was raiding Ulduar with exile. coming back in to TOC and ICC i didnt see much of a problem, so the lack of threat was not really noticible. recently, however, i started having a big problem with threat later in ICC ( even though my role was ot i didnt think i was putting out what i should have been). During my research i saw that, in ICC, expertise was practically worthless unless you were having problems with threat. seeing as my expertise had dropped to below 20, i decided to take the loss in health in stacking stam gems and sought out a way to get my expertise back up. This explains my problem though, i was trying to fix a threat issue with expertise when the problem was with my spec, the one thing i thought was solid. Thank you for pointing that out. The hit gem i threw in because the gem bonus was +12, and throwing a +*/+15 stam put me close enough to +30 and gave me an extra +10 on another stat as a gimme. I chose hit because it had to be a yellow gem. I will change my spec and see how well it works for me, and if i can regem those expertise gems back to +stam.
well, the point i was making is about simple math: +12 stam / 2 non-blue sockets is the same as 1 non-blue for only +6 stam. the strongest socket bonuses for matching should be your +9 stam for 1 non-blue, which you have ignored with 30 stam gems. that's why i said you were not consistent with typical mixed w/stam gemming schemes. as for talents, i know they recently did a few changes to warriors recently but i believe that was just a UA nerf... what spec would you look at going for (link it or if you're respecing just go ahead so its visible)? beyond that, gear looks solid and best loot are maces again so even being a fat cow isn't a negative toward the stats, so hopefully raid leaders will take a look and post an answer soon.
i changed the spec to a 15/3/53 and it seems to going well. i will post it when it updates on the armory, and i will probably go back to all stam stacking as well before the night is over
new spec http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Sargeras&cn=Ttayw&group=1 yet to take those expt. gems off entirely but its coming
As with the recent feral app...I would be leery of bringing in a new tank when we currently have three consistent tanks already...regardless of spec and gemming.
I think only group 3 would have room. I am not leading it so I can't give a definite answer. However, it has been running on the weekends and based on your original post weekends are tough for you. Maybe they can work something out. I don't think we have a set time for group 3 yet either.
