I like Intels idea of using this platform instead of a keyboard and mouse in the the web 3.0...

"Organic Motion has radically redefined motion capture

    Real Life in Real-time.
Nothing to wear, nothing to attach. No need to change clothing, calibrate flashing dots, worry about marker occlusion, or plan out elaborate tracking sessions.
    Just come as you are"

The more I read about this..the more Im thrilled.

    * Sporting goods retailer to instantly measure customers to select best athletic equipment
    * Therapy clinic to track patients' periodic progress with definitive proof of results
    * Karaoke bars where singers will be instantly transformed into an animated character
    * Media organization to create total brand interaction by creating custom virtual realties
    * National sports league to set up portable systems to capture the motion of all its players
    * Sports stadium exhibits so fans can swing and compare their motion to their favorite athlete
    * Childrens' museum to set up interactive exhibit to teach students about the physics of their body
    * Golf pro shops to combine mo-cap with a golf simulator to sell more clubs and lessons
    * Medical equipment manufacturer to build mo-cap treadmill for daily multiple patient gait analysis

"Intel is investing in a vision of the future where game and other
cyberspace interactions are controlled by an individual's gestures and
voice instead of by game pads and wands," said Justin Rattner, Chief
Technology Officer, Intel Corporation. "Organic Motion's computer
vision technology is part of that future where the collaborative
Internet is visual rather than textual and in 3D rather than 2D. In
this era of multi-core processors and mainstream parallel
applications, the Organic Motion technology is not only possible but
highly affordable. Suffice it to say that the ability to process
multiple live video feeds to create accurate 3D models has
far-reaching applications in the consumer and enterprise market
    segments."

Woot they are working on an appllication for second life!!
SL is the frontier of the web 3.0..it wont be the leader of 3.0..just the beginning...baby's first steps.

Someone got up on the wrong side bed today...yikes.
Did SL kill your dog or something?

Didnt take long to derail this thread..Second life is seen as such a threat.

Its only a threat to you if you ignore your wife and play CoD all day..and she plays SL.

Looks for many threads now about second life and how great it is. Ill post about our chairty work first..then all the small business we support in africa..then about helpiing people with substance abuse. Metal illness such as agorophobia..and many other fears.

I really dislike small minded people who just like to put something down..when obviously they dont have a clue.

    BITE ME!!
and I get this BS from an adminstrator no less..way to show some support for your members.

You D**kless wonder Im not the only one playing SL..you insult all of us and many wonderful and talented people..good going.

.I see SL is not welcome IN XEN..the administration here is quit clear on that. fuck you too asshole..good going. Now how about fading away and letting the new generation lead Xen into the future..

I think someone pissed in too many people's cheerios this morning.

    I like motion capture.

And I don't think Jeb was being very serious (without looking for any other comments Jeb has made about SL) but whatever.

    Motion capture is cool.

I was joking... I logged into it before, it's not for me, but I dont' think I have ever seriously bitched about it on here? Hell I have bitched about lots of games more then SL if I ever did...

But come on? You would leave if I seriously didn't like SL? That seems very... strange to me.

no Cox, nothing missing... Dash just messaged me and said "what did you say to Doc that made him leave" and I was like "What?" and then saw the SL thing...
My post is the only post I made about it...

  14. Look at it from the perspective of where motion capture has been used for such a long time: 3D animation. It will be so much easier and faster to do motion capture than it has been that movies, games, and animated tv shows will greatly benefit from it. Kinda seems as the old by hand method of animation in 3D is going to go by the wayside no matter how much pixar fights it. Think, the actors just walk into a room and act the scene or do whatever it is they need, and they're replaced by orcs or goblins or who knows what non-human creature. Better yet, they can generate the character model from the live feeds based on that video on the front of the website.

Best part about it is that it's cheaper than other systems, at least from what it seems it uses like 16 cameras and a bright room, thats it.

You can't be upset because of what people think of SL, I mean if you log on the first thing you see are people giving out free shitty clothes and a bunch of people having sex or being at raves. Or Sex raves. I mean, you have a wife on there as well as a gf who is a dragon and live in a castle.

You have to have a pretty thick skin for what people will think of that and not be upset because of 1 person not liking it or finding it out there.

I dont know why this pushed you over the edge.

    Christianity has to die.

    LOL I KID!

    *frustration and disappointment ensues*

Y U SO ANGRY? 'as he continues to explain'
..the belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
    U SHOULDN'T BE SO SERIOUS

And that's when Doc left XoO and no one learned anything at all about trolling.
    The End.

But you dont understand that when doc starts a thread about SL there is always the asshole of the bunch who talks it down, if you have somthin bad to say about it keep it to yourself. Honestly i could give a rats ass what any of you think of me for typing this but Doc has been a long time friend and this is kinda shitty to see him go like this.

lev you really do just amaze me at times with what you come up with... dont' confuse that with impressed... just amazed.

Anyways Ronin, your intitled to your opinion of course, but I find it funny that you can sit and defend your position while calling me an asshole... See the differance is you just did a personal attack on me, where as I made a comment about a computer program... but you don't see me freaking out. Why? Because it's not that big a deal.
