A Silent Rotor Blade Paves the Way for Super-Stealth Choppers There is a video at the bottom. pretty neat stuff!
seemed like a simple solution...the shape of the blade...but apparently was elusive. The blue pulse tech they also have to reduce the noise a copter makes descending seems a bit more complicated...but just as nifty...and ones that run on bio-diesel. They are on the ball at that company.
I guess I wasn't alone in thinking this. Read what I found on Wired : <<No confirmation from Eurocopter, but in avoiding putting the “green†label on their efforts, the company appears to be borrowing from everybody’s favorite movie helicopter legend, Blue Thunder. The 1980s cinematic masterpiece features a helicopter made by what is now Eurocopter, an Aérospatiale Gazelle. And one of the helicopter’s most impressive technologies was its “whisper mode†that allowed it to fly around as quiet as a glider. Could just be a coincidence.>>
This is pretty cool. Back in 2001 when I was in Gr.10 shop class we got a chance to go to the eurocopter facility in the area and see how they fabricate some of their helicopter pieces. I always thought it was one of the coolest trips for class. Even back then they were a leader in helicopter technology.
lawlz@gaming fans but the thought has some merit to be honest. XD my system has like 6 fans and its pretty loud. mind you, not as loud as a chopper, but you notice how much quieter the room is when my comp is off. if the shape makes a diff -if even on smaller scale- then do it up!
