I know it's not a multiplayer game, but who is getting it? I'm going to the midnight launch tomorrow. :X
Going early morning since I will be in the area then anyways. They don't do midnight releases here but I wouldn't go to one anyways.
Collectors edition pre-ordered for the PS3 Really looking forward to this as the last FF games i played were 10 and 10-2.
Gonna be at the Sunset and Vine Gamestop in about 3 hours and 15 mins. If you're in Hollywood, come hang out yo!
Been watching my friend play it for about 4 hours now. Combat is interesting. Story is meh. Looks Pretty. American Voice Actors FTL. I am being harsh though >.>
Im past what so far as I can tell is the intro and I haven't seen a use for the score I get at the end of every fight, I haven't been able to give commands to more than one character in a party and I've seen no sign of gaining XP. I have however witnessed a musical number and pretty much mashed A through a few dozen fights. This game better shape up relatively soon because if the pace doesn't change im taking it back tomorrow.
Actually, I agree, I'm like..6 or 7 hours in now, the story is kind of meh, I'm kind of discovering things as I go along still. Combat is very nice to look at, and tough at times, but so far I just use Libra and then mash Auto-Battle for the entire fight.
About 10 hours in. Graphics look awesome. Story still some what confusing. Combat is meh. Voice Actors still pissing me off. So far though. Game Play pissing me off the most. Combat is so utterly easy barely any strategy other then smash auto-atk but there are a few battles that require you to Think. Combat is a nice concept but boring. Probably jumping the gun but even the Crystarium thing is utterly linear with almost no variety in builds other then what they have given you. All you need to do is fight a few times get CP then max everything before they even give you another stage. Again I know I am jumping the gun, but so far I am not impressed sir D: Edit: But there is one thing for sure. Vanille and Lightning are pretty smokin
Mmmmmmmmhmmmmmmm. Wouldn't mind getting a hold of some of that, as long as Vanille shuts the fuck up.
I've read the IGN and 1UP articles (haven't done Kotaku yet, probably will tonight at work), and everything I've read so far says its starts out slow and doesn't really get "better" until Chapter 10 or 11 (wherever that is). BUT I haven't played it, so I really can't judge or say anything constructive - but I haven't heard anything about it being "mindblowing", and since I don't have a PS3 I'm in no rush to get the 360 version (although I'm a big graphics guy, I don't really care about the 360 vs PS3 debates going on - its the gameplay I care about most out of an RPG) I'll probably wait for a pricedrop before I get it - I will be getting it, just don't know when yet. i <3 u azo btw
It's not mindblowing. Mindblowing would be a full scale remake of FFT without fucking over the mechanics of the game or the feel of it. Or a proper god damn sequel.
