If you have a high ping or even spikes, there is a solution http://www.smoothping.com/ For me ping reduced from 400 to 100 and lower, depends on area. That works in WoW as well.
I know that NCSoft considers using those types of tools as bannable so use at your own risk. Sad, but true
Can I look up at the official proof ? It says "Will I get banned for using this? Is this safe? The SmoothPing service is nothing more than a proxy server, essentially just making your connection from your computer to the Blizzard servers as fast as possible. Nothing in game is modified and there is no "cheating" involved. There are 10000's of people worldwide playing WoW via SSH Tunneling and the number of players doing this is growing every day" I think it's the same with Aion..
Yeah, back when this whole debacle started for US players, they said, I think I asked them too, but they said that it is a 3rd party application and as such all 3rd party applications that modify the game in any way, connection or otherwise *could* be banned. But they were more worried about botters then than anything else
http://www.xoohq.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11125 Another way to reduce ping by adding a registry entry
NOT TRUE!!!! NOT TRUE!!!!! NOT TRUE!!!!! and did I mention that this is NOT TRUE???!!!!! It is not a bannable offense. It does not make any changes to the game files, it does not give an unfair advantage, it does not exploit. Please do not make statements like this unless you know them to be true. The people that were getting banned with proxy servers were people attempting to reach game server via proxy servers from locations that are not authorized by NCSoft to play the game (trying to use a proxy to skirt an IP ban is a bannable offense).
I knew about that too, but it didn't work, when I was playing in Lineage 2, I dunno why. My brother gonna try to use SmoothPing too, he has 100 averege ping in Aion (NA), will see
Cool, gratz, 20-30 ping is like server stays in the next room. By the way how far are from the server you play ?
I may try this. Has anyone asked if this is a bannable offense in any of these situations? Or should I go ahead and make a thread in one of the Blizzard forums and ask officially if it's alright from at least their perspective?
