I just found out that i should have the funds to buy my new PC after recalculating my budget. The PC I was suppose to purchase will finally be here in March for this game. Watch out XoO Nishua is back. Since I'm the best you guys should just let me run things :D

Nah I'm building from scratch always do. I'm going with a full AMD system with an ATI card. I'll save a ton of money this way and I won't be sacrficing that much performance. No link yet it's not going to get purchased for a long time but when it's done I'll post it.

Yeah Rubius I remember those days man. We were playing the beta I think. We really need to make sure this division is strong with a good unit behind. I would run it myself but my schedule is late nights. Monday - Friday I work from 3:00PM - 12:30AM EST and my days are books so i'll be a weekend warrior and week mornings at least until May.

I've been hesitant to switch over to ATI but nVidia is really falling behind, I need to read up on whats best to get.

I'm still curious to see what ya going to build! I'll be building my new one soon enough.

I personally believe nvidia to be a better card simply because they seem to do better and have better drivers in games ... right now thou they are behind ... when the new gen comes out then ATI will be behind for a few months and so on and so fourth

its funny at micro center we had 1 row for each manufacturer ... it has now been change to 1.5 for nvidia and only half for ati ...

We get alot of people returning ATI cards and going to Nvidia ...

    ATI = raw performance
Nvidia makes a mix of support and performance right now

I wouldn't say they have better drivers. 1/3 of all system crashes are due to nVidia drivers in Vista (end beyond) OS's. I'd say nVidia is pretty terrible at writing drivers. It's just that a lot of games being developed are centered around nVidia so you end up with less problems using nVidia cards.

This isn't necessarily saying ATi has good drivers... I don't know enough about them to comment.

I think you should hold off on the upgrade and see if your 8800gt can run it at decent settings. I'm running a 8800GTX and quad-core Q6600 cpu, and I think I'll be able to play this game on max settings at 1080p. I've been playing every other new game maxed out with no problems.

Before I got sucked into building systems that had Intel processors with Nvidia graphics I use to buy AMD & ATI. Reason being is because you got great products without having to pay a premium price. Once INTEL stepped up there game in the processor department I totally shifted because supposedly Intel and Nvidia go hand to hand.

Currently INTEL is still beating out AMD when it comes to processors but that doesn't mean AMD is bad. You get great value when purchasing their chips. Their top o fthe line chip sells for under 275 and it's a beast. In regards to ATI I feel the same way. Granted the graphics card I was going to buy was this one.

I don't see how I would need to worry about running anything for a while. Regardless of what I end up getting I will be playing this game when it releases. I've haven't been this excited about a game since Age of Conan :( Yeah I know.

I can't imagine the brand of the CPU having any influence on the behaviour of the graphic card. Could you explain a bit more ?

I haven't heard of that before either. I *do* know that some programs work better on different cpu brands, though.

I dunno man, in that case remove jumping as well, I'm sick of bunny hopping players that gun me down.

Its better to say, if you can prone in mid air, then I won't play the game. I love to prone across bushes and behind stuff and sniper or cover somebody from my hidden position.

IMO what they should do is, disable the ability to shoot when you jump, problem solved! Then you won't have this dolphin effect either.

Oh yeah, time to pre order this game... :D

I've heard that nVidia + intel works "better" and AMD +ATi works "better" together.
I, of course, right now don't have any links or sources to quote since I'm at work, and I don't really remember why that would be the case - but I have heard this.

Will look around when I get off, until then - maybe someone else can fill us in.
