Finished the game, took about 42 hours but I did read a lot of the Codex and pretty much completed everything that could be completed in 1 play through. It's easily 30-40 hours + even for someone rushing. As for the game itself I'll wait until someone makes a spoiler post, I always let something slip. :D

But ya all these 9.5/10 ratings you see aren't for show or some Bioware ass licking (as some morons like to call it), it really does deserve the praise it's getting. 2010 is going to be awesome for gaming, what a start.

I am resisting the urge to play the game again, even after 40 hours in 3 days I would do a Renegade game right now but I'd rather let it settle a bit for now.

    Last word: Get it... NOW!

30-40 hours? It just came out yesterday, 40 hours in 3 days? How'd you get it sooner? :X
That's great to hear that its that much time, I did EVERYTHING in Mass Effect 1 (all exploration, side quests, assignments, etc) and I think got to 22 hours. So if ME2 is close to doubling the playtime/depth of ME1 then I'm stoked.

I told myself I wouldn't look at this thread again because of some of the earlier negative / spoiler posts I saw, but I figured I'd check it out at least once.

Such a vast improvement on everything, I've been very happy so far with everything, huge overall. I feel like I'm playing a totally different game, in a good way. I'm only 10 hours in, and I have to pull 5 nights of work this week so I won't be able to play much.

    Happy hunting and no spoilers!!

I got it in 27 Hs, but I have a lot of unexplored systems.
I was exploring everything until I got to disc 2. But then, the galaxy map started filling with Orange dots pretty fast, and I lost interest in that, and continued with the main plot.

PS: Don't you love the intro sequence?

Just finished Mass Effect 2, I cried a little at the end. Great set up for the final chapter in the Trilogy!

The first one did that to me at the end, and a few other times.

Great series so far, going to be replaying this one a lot more than the first!

Is the sex scene with miranda staple to the story or do you have to make the right choices?

My first run through I turned her ass down and bitched her out about Jack, then I had sex with Tali. I have to say that Tali's LI storyline was one of the most interesting and balanced and I really enjoyed watching it unfold, second play through I'm gonna make my Shep stay faithful to Liara.

    Hey guys

I was a big fan of fallout3 and the only other title I have for my 360 is a Gears2 ...

so do think I would enjoy ME2 .. considering the fact I never played the first one ?

i think you will my Friend!

its a grate game overall. but it makes far to many references to the first one so you will be some what lost.

but it still a good game.

in maving fun with my Infiltrator!
if i were you. ill buy the first one for a 5 $ some where and play it first.
also so you can inport your character on the first game. and most of the desition in your game have some kind of implication for this one, some are realy small like a radio station mention it, some are far bigger with small or not so small quests.

No, in ME1 my Shep hooked up with Liara, I hear there's some big bonuses if you stay faithful in ME3.

I just finished my paragon femshep playthrough. Happily, everyone survived to the end.

She stayed faithful to Kaiden (despite his being a tool on Horizon).

My next playthough is my maleshep renegade. He will be cheating on Ashley the first chance he gets. Though I am not sure if I will go the Tali, Jack or Miranda route with him.

I really don't want to wait another 2 years for ME3 at this point. Right now, between DA:O and ME2, Bioware can do no wrong in my eyes.

Initial word is to expect ME3 late 2011, so we have a bit less than 2 years. Yeah BioWare is on a roll.

Uh, hmm. Didn't know you could continue your relationship with Liara (or whichever ME1 love interest) because she's not part of your crew, aka initiating anything (I couldn't do anything with Ashley, etc)
Or do you mean - forgoing all of the "new" ME2 relationships to be "faithful"?

I haven't beat it yet, maybe I should shut my yapper then heh.

they just mean not having an ME2 relationship, kind of like... taking a break because your heart stopped for 2 years ;P

Bioware has stated that there will be "consequences" for not staying faithful in ME 3. So I will just make toons who will see both sides of that event.

Interesting, I guess I missed that dev. article or video.

Good thing we've got like 2 years to play through. I'm about to head through the Omega 4 relay, but I wanted my Paramour achievement.

I'll be playing through multiple times (i'm sure everyone else will too!) so I'll have a save where I stay faithful, I suppose ;]

I hope I survive the suicide mission!
