The problem is ... what class to play in ME2 ? It seems they made each and every one of them really interesting.
Did you edit your post I quoted? Lol. I'm playing all 6 eventually, they revamped them all to the point of me wanting to try them all, plus they 'fixed' and polished almost everything - so going through the game multiple times won't be as much as a headache, hopefully. I'm starting with Vanguard more than likely, biotic charge ftw. Either that or Sentinel.
I am very interested in playing 5/6 classes (engineer doesn't excite me much) so I know I have 5 play throughs. I am also going to try to make each chick an LI during a run through. Hehheh I plan to get it on with Tali..what is behind that mask??
LI : Love Interest. I like Tali a lot too. It seems she has her background explored in ME2, which is nice.
Aaaagh...you think I can go buy ME1 again tomorrow morning and get a decent save game by Tuesday morning?? Every review I see says it is so cool when you import your shit and the game adjusts to what u did in ME1. Damn you harddrive failure for ruining my ME1 save games!!!!
Well, why the rush ? You already said you will have at least 5 playthroughs. You can make your first one from blank state, then go back to ME1 and then import the save for your second or subsequent ME2 playthroughs.
Well, you already played ME1, so you know what they are talking about when they say "Reaper" or "Prothean". Decisions you made in ME1 affect the world in ME2, but not as much as Bioware claims. You only get to visit Anderson's office, and you dont even get to know the new council if you let the old one die. I let the Rachni live, but the only thing you know about them in ME2 is that they are doing fine and they won't conquer the galaxy again. You also find people you saved in some of the colonies back in feros, noveria and virmire. But they only give you a couple of side-quests. Nothing major. Oh, and you have a picture of your lovemate in your room. <3 Liara.
Alright, even though I've done the playtest for this game back in November and was mostly disappointed, I'm buying this game tonight, midnight release, at Gamestop. Why you might ask yourself? Because the story is just that damn good, and I'm praying that Bioware listened to us from the playtest and fixed some of the crap we had to go through with the original game. I'm finishing my third playthrough of the game on Hardcore, everyone is at 59, soo fucking close to 60, just need like...100,000 more experience XD. I did everything as Soldier, couldn't help it, I like letting the rest of my team take care of everything. My team at the moment is Garrus and Wrex.
10 P.M. is when the line starts at the Gamestop on Sunset and Vine, if you're in the SoCal area, come hang out for the midnight release!
Yeah! Plus, 7 - you don't HAVE to buy ME2 tomorrow morning ;] Although I know you want too. I'm almost through my 4th play through, I'm 59 and I'm on Ilos. I don't think I'll hit 60. I've done every side quest and hopped out of the Mako to kill things for the extra XP, and I hit 50 my "first" playthrough. Is it not feasible to hit 60 on your second "full" playthrough? Does it require at least 3? Happy Mass Effect 2 Day tomorrow, I might be in the "other games" channels in vents later tomorrow if you all want to talk while playing :]
Thanks for the spoilers without the warning. /s I've heard a lot of people were "disappointed" with it, and like BassSick mentioned as well that most of the decisions don't affect much. Its still going to be a great game, and the fact that it even imports some decisions from a game 2 years ago is definitely awesome in my eyes. What other games have done that (honest question)?
I'm not doubting the awesomeness of the story at all. I only had major problems with presentation, such as some voice acting that was horrible, the tutorial was completely unhelpful and hard to follow, the hacking and decrypting mini-games were difficult to figure out with no helpful tutorial, combat camera was too close to Shepherds back, and on and on and on. I did, however, enjoy the story of the first 3 hours of the game that I did play. I'm not going to spoil anything, all I'm going to say is that you should be prepared to be shocked. It shocked me so baddly I'm curious to see how this whole importing your character over thing is supposed to work.
Well, voice acting is at the same level of quality as ME1. Male Shepard is a bit dull, but the rest of the cast is great. Especially Garrus and Joker. The tutorial is really easy to follow. You will want to skip it if you played ME1, and you will learn quite fast if you didn't. It's part of the first mission tho, so other stuff is happening while you train, it's not just "do this and then that". They give you instruccions for the hack minigames, but they are really easy to do. There's only 2 kind. And the camera was good. The only problem that I had with it, was not beign able to switch shoulders while in cover, like in Army of Two or MGS4. Other than that, the game it's awesome.
I wonder what went wrong with your game. I did get to 60 at about 2/3 or 3/4th of my second playthrough as soldier w/ electronics, hardcore then insanity.
Yes, that's how the game is now, in the play test however things were much different. They listened to us on some things, and then some things they didn't. I can't complain now, the game is pretty good, still have to get over the wonky camera with your weapon drawn and the fact that I can't toss remote activated grenades anymore.
OK, I will admit I tingled a little in my 'special place' with the Normandy SR2 reveal. A blast so far....
