James Cameron first film since titanic (written). He is playing it up as the next level in CG entertainment. Mind blowing etc...

One of my fav's. Aliens, terminator 1/2 ,... and the highest grossing film of all time

well i saw the commercial while watching Inglorious Bastards, and it looked pretty good. The commercial could have been better, since u cudnt hear anything the whole time but the music, but it looks good enough to watch.

Looks great, though I'm slightly disappointed in the CG. Hell FF:Spirits Within still has the most photo realistic environments and characters to date, and that was like 5+ years ago. I would of figured the CG would have been hard to tell its fake. I guess its the uncanny valley.

I can't wait for this movie. The previews look great and I'm excited to see that one actor from Terminator Salvation in another cool role, he was good.

I saw the trailer when I went to see Paranormal Activity. I have to say, it looks amazing and was probably the best part of that trip to the theater.

  6. am looking forward to watching this :)

  7. I'm wondering if I'm the only one that thinks this movie is going to be terrible. Sure it has awesome CG but then so did the final fantasy movies, but the story is going to be terribly generic and lame, acting is going to be even worse, and all the action was probably shown in the previews(like usual) with a lot of panoramic views to fill the time.

I'm going to give it a preemptive 2.5/5.

  8. CG will probably always be a little less "real" looking... but they've made a lot of improvements over the years but the problem is mostly with mixed CG and the edges between the CG and the people. I've yet to see CG moving images mix seemlessly with actors on screen.

It'll probably be terrible and I'll still like it anyway. That's the usual way it goes.

  10. I'm pretty sure we're related.

  11. he actually wrote the screen play for this movie in between all the masterpieces he made in the 80's. 20 years later the technology to make the film came around and talent to follow. im stoked for this movie along with "The chronicles of riddick - "the underverse"

  12. If you saw the trailer for this movie in a normal theatre, then you would of said, nice, im gonna see that.

If you saw the trailer in 3D in an IMAX theatre(which i did when watching The Final Destination), then you would of said...

    HOLY SHIT! FCK ME!

the story isnt any epic but true sense of the movie is the experience of it. I wouldnt expect the story to be anything to be talked about but the experience itself is well worth my $12.

  13. Wow 12 bucks for IMAX, you can't even park here for 12 bucks. I really do want to see this, in IMAX, but after the turd that was Transformers 2, I just don't think I can shell out another 80 bucks for a movie that I might like.

So, I'll just wait to hear what you guys think, who get to see it in IMAX and go from there.

  14. Its IMAX 3D btw, Transformers II was just IMAX so the experience would be alot different. Just by watching the trailer i thought i was in that friggin world!

  15. Well I'm gonna come over to your house, I'm sure the airfare would be cheaper than going in Chicago. :)

  16. the film looks a little too coated in James Cameron opinions of moral fiber .... but we'll see I guess.

For certain the cgi looks pretty good

I saw the blue guys and instantly thought "Neosapians!"

I'm going to see this in 3D on Saturday. You can never go wrong with space marines.
