I ordered this game today for less than $50 Canadian, including shipping. Should be here in the next few days. http://gamecyberstore.com/ ($31.99 USD + shipping) How do I get in contact with you guys for some multiplayer fun? Got a system set up or do y'all just wait around on vent/xfire?
There's no multiplayer Rubius. =/ After the way I started, and learning my lesson, I would start out, right after Lothering, hitting up the mages tower first, the attribute bonuses, plus the addition of Wynne will make the rest of the game go much more smoothly. That way, your party would be Leliana, Wynne, Allistair and You. I can't beat Flemeth though.
All you really need from the Heal line is the first spell, "Heal". The rest is nice but it's hardly healing per say. Morrigan with Heal and a good amount of potions is more than enough until level 14, just need to do a lot of crowd control. At level 14 you can have her learn Spirit Healer, and voila by 18 you have a healer just as good as Wynne... with some really strong spells for extra crowd control and DPS (The frost line is great for that and she starts with a point in it already). Especially if you go for a darker "evil" group, Wynne isn't really a match.
all i can say this game is amazing! just is that good of a game that kill your social life for about a month till you beat it. an then you want more! every time i take one desition im asking what im missing! in think my name is Rohx in the social bioware network if any one wats to add me! best RPG (story wise at least in the last 7 yeasrs)
picking it up today... the wife decided she wanted to play it after i caught her playing morrowind hah and my question wasn't if i could solo it more so than how much micromanaging does it take? if i have to pause it every 5 seconds to readjust all my group mates it bores me quick
Well, if you play on easy, that only happens every once in a while. I find that I usually pause when my healer isn't doing her job and I need to get a heal down on someone. Sometimes I pause because I need to take a quick second to reposition some people and make it easier for myself. Like, using Morrigan to cast Cone of Cold on a huge group of enemies flying in in front of us. I'd pause first, and then make everyone hold and send Morrigan forward, Cone of Cold, pause, release everyone and then send my main and the rest into battle and bring Morrigan back to the back, freezing enemies in place and making it much easier to take out a few before they enter into the fight. The more you pump the difficulty, the more you'll have to micromanage your battles and strategize to win.
I actually didn't have a problem going without a healer until I got Wynne. This could be because I had some good tactics set up and had both myself and Allister set up with swords and boards. I used a 'If Health <25% use Lowest Health Poultice' tactic. I never seemed to really have problems running out of potions or having anyone die. This was the opposite of when I was I tried out a rogue. I just had a heck of a time staying alive playing that toon. Now that I know the game better, I might start the rogue over. I played on normal and didn't have to set it to easy until Spoiler I had to go kill Flemeth for Morrigan. I just got sick of dying to a dragon. I must say, the killing animation for both Flemeth and the dragon in the mountains is just kick-ass. I wish I had been using fraps.
Yah thx mortae, actually I went back a few saves and specced morrigan some heals, the computer is quite good at making u crap ur pants and then healing u to 50% when ur at 5% health. I think I would need groups heals though, bc the game is too micro-ey when all u have is a cc'ing mage. But yea the mage is essential. I just learned that I could scout the rooms before rushing in with my tank with a stealthed rogue so yeah. At least there's collision in this game, otherwise my tanks would be useless. Oh yea morrigan is hawt.
WAAA?? I could have sworn the video review of the game mentioned multiplayer with friends... and showed four players in a dungeon to boot. That's a big let-down =/, but I'm still gonna enjoy the game.
Well you can have 4 party members in a dungeon at one time... so that might be what you saw. However, people have the ability to create scenarios and modules on their own with the tools. It's possible that there may be some sort of multi-player function added later. I assume it might work the same way as NWN did... however, there are no plans for it that I know of. On another note... Spoiler I can't figure out who the heck to support for the dwarven crown
Spoiler I went with Harrowthorn, he seems like a much better candidate, less of a shady bastard like Bhelen is. Plus, killing Jarvia and her whole crew felt so....good. Lol when asked my character said, "They were vermin. I removed them"
I don't know how to post blacked out text on my blackberry, so ill say it vaguely. Brecilian forest, my favorite of all the ferelden stories. Also, some epic loot there, I may go back in to finish all the red bosses. not bc the story was just in detail, but the way it was presented with twists and all. With my schedule, I'm able to get in one or 2 stories after work. I currently have dalish and magi, need to finish the arl eawon one. Sooooo good. Oh and the blood dragon armor owns, even though it looks out of place... I know it was meant to be in both masseffect2 and dragonage but it probably looks gooofy in both. A pile of dragon loot in brecilian ruins gave me 16 gold just fyi if anybody wants to know. Leliana is growing on me now, morrigans cynicism gets on u after a while.
For the first 2/3 of the game, my team was regularly Wynne, Allister and Leliana. Since I did the dwarf area, I have been taking Oghram with me constantly. He offers the best banter. Between him talking about Wynne's chest or his lesbian wife, there is no shortage of humor. One of the best ones goes like this: Alistair - All this darkspawn business is making me feel stressed. Ogrehn - Know what I do to relieve stress? Alistair - Er no? Ogrehn - I polish my weapon Alistair - Ewwww, I really didn't need to know that. Ogrehn - Yep nothing like giving your weapon a good polish under the stars Alistair - What, you mean like out in the open, where everyone can see you? Ogrehn - Yup. Alistair - Thats disgusting! Ogrehn - Don't tell me you've never given your weapon a good polish with some grease and a cloth. Alistair - Wait what are you talking about? Ogrehn - What are you talking about? This could be a really lame interaction, but the quality of the voice actors just turns it into gold
Seriously. Like they sound like real people, not that we know what darkspawn fighting magical people talk like. But I do enjoy the dialogue. I love lelianas accent, sounds like a bit of french accent. Sten is kinda annoying, even though he looks awesome in heavy armor using a twohander. I don't really use zavran, or the dog, and shale is actually pretty decent and his witty sarcasm is pretty funny but the loud thumping footsteps and ff aoe spells really keep him off the team for me. Since my main is a super tank, I was having wynne, leliana, morrigan and sten as my group, but I'm having a hard time deciding bw clothie dps and plate dps. Morrigan has cc and dps, sten can stay alive for a while, but ever since I got leliana to wear elven medium armor I was thinking about removing sten. Hard choice.
i like how when you get temporary party members in the beginning, you get all their gear in inventory after they die. very helpful unless you want the half-naked cut scenes during plot events
Bioware said the actress is Parisian and moved to London about 10 years ago, so the accent is not as strong. All of the Orleasans have voice actors that are French so to make the accents more realistic.
I love my dog...very usefull in finding random objects. Ive not had much trouble using him instead of another party member...playing on normal. I just love the pause feature for issuing Tactics..graphics full on...makes for some very interesting screen shots...I imagine we will need a post just for screens. Im in my 11th hour..
