I think this is as good of a time as any to announce this, since it's pretty much just "Wait until we say yes" right now. Over the past several weeks, I have been in contact with a virtual game development studio called WildFire Games, predominately to work as a Sound Effects Specialist on a Freeware RTS called 0 A.D. After applying for the position, I was contacted quite quickly from the staff with pretty positive results, and was asked for any specific work. After sending them some stuff I have been working on for my current school's project (An underwater shooter al-la Starfox), They were impressed. Last Tuesday, I had an interview with the Lead Audio Designer and the Project Manager on MSN (as I said, it's a virtual design studio). From there, things looked good. After sending them more of my work, I was given a task from the Audio lead, which I completed today. After tweaking a few things and sending them back, he said things looked really good, and I'll hear their final answer in a few days, but not to worry as as [he] thinks I'm pretty much in. [I wouldnt worry I think you are pretty much ready to rock] were his own words So hopefully in a couple days, I'll officially be a Sound Effects Specialist working on the 0 A.D. Project at Wildfire Games. It's a volunteer project in which I don't see a paycheck, but I'm still in school and am graduating this September. This is huge for me as it's a serious plus on my resume when I'm looking for a real job since 0 A.D. has already garnered much attention from gaming publications and the industry alike. Also on my list, I was recently awarded the Sound Engineer title over at Geist 3D. Some of you may know it as the project that Dance is a large part of (He is the co-founder of XoO alongside Dash). I will be creating the music and sound effects for their project, which is another huge plus on my resume. Feel free to check out 0 A.D. here, and if you are unfamiliar with Geist 3D, it can be found here. Things are looking up for ol' PDog, and hopefully Wildfire will make it official in a couple days. All that's left is to finish my game at school, graduate, and move out West for a paying position. GO ME!
Gratz PDog hopefully Ill make into the industry as well. Still working on my maya skills >.< damn normal mapping
grats, PDog! Couldn't have happened to a nicer chap! Seal the deal and ship them out some of that new Pdog Pie.
